A Little Break
Dear Diary,
I am supposed to be reading a couple of chapters of my textbook now but somehow can't seem to settle into it. I also skipped the MBA alumni gathering dinner tonight. Quite burnt out from all the budget meetings, the handover meetings (yes, one Jap expatriate is going back tomorrow and leaving his portfolio to me), the financial & management accounting exam and now... the module on project management. It is a long week indeed!
The only real excitement is the Zune-style Windows Mobile 6.5 which I installed into my mobile phone, haha... Quite a cannot-make-it week. So with music from Enya playing softly in the background, I realised how much we people love to attain success. Nothing wrong with that... just that we want it fast and snappy. Like if you ask me, "What do you want now?" I will probably tell you that I want to clear my Masters at a snap of the finger, get enough cash to buy an apartment in a prime area etc...
However, I was reminded of a cute little story in "Our Daily Bread". In that story, a man was browsing in a shop and then realised that God was behind a sales counter. So he asked God, "What do you sell?" God replied, "What does your heart desire?" The man said, "I want happiness, peace of mind, and freedom of fear... for me and the whole world". God smiled and said, "I don't sell fruits here. Only seeds."
We cannot expect to reap the harvest if we do not sow the seeds. Alright... as said, I am heading back to reading my textbook. Hanging the sign "Seed sowing in progress". ;-)
God Bless,
Andrew
