My Hair and My Car

Dear Diary,

Hi, I am back again to recount events in my life just like a teenage flick, haha... We are approaching Christmas! Yay! Still smarting over how I paid the price of just popping into just any barber for a haircut this morning. I had intended to get a good neat nice haircut for the Christmas season but that barber gave me a haircut which I never had since my active army days. Geesshhh... Oh well, no point crying over spilt milk. An army boy look for the Christmas party tomorrow and the various Christmas events lined up for most of next week. =( What an anti-climax.

Anyway, sent my car to the Esso car wash services. Got it sparkling squeaky clean! Yeah... owning a car is a financial burden but thankfully my company allows me to claim for almost all of my vehicle expenses, so it is fine. Dad also accompanied me to pump up the air pressure in my car’s tyres. Earlier, I was unsure if my tyre is punctured or not. Yesterday after my trip to the zoo’s veterinary laboratory and on my way back to office, I pulled my car up at an Esso pump station to pump petrol. The pump attendant told me that one of my tyres is punctured and I needed to change it as soon as possible. I was initially quite shocked to hear such a bad news and the tyre did indeed look flat. However, like a logical rationale-thinking guy, I shut out his persuasion and thought of an appropriate decision. Eventually, I decided I will pump the tyre to the correct pressure and make the decision back home. I guess it was the right decision to make since it was later ascertained that the leakage was very minimal (looks substantial only after many months) and certainly not punctured!

My boss told me in my recent appraisal that she is impressed that I always appear to be “on-top-of-the-situation” and very calm. Oh yeah... I sure have that deceptive look, haha... Normally when I say it will be done, I usually get it done even against the odds. ;-) Oh yes, I visited the Singapore Zoo’s veterinary lab for the first time yesterday. The zoo seems like a fun place to work at! The young vet technician is nice to chat with and I learnt that she was formerly from a hospital’s lab. Human hospital... haha... Sometimes, can’t help feeling a little guilty that I have so much time at hand to chat with people but they are always chatting to me at the expense of rushing their work later on. =P Ate KFC at the zoo, watching the young children, teens and their doting parents eating their meals and describing the animals. I am all ready for the next phase of life but I need a viable chance! ;-) God help me next year, yeah?

Leave you with this music video of the theme song of the cartoon movie “Bolt”:

“I thought I Lost You”
by John Travolta and Miley Cyrus

Do you know that the female singer Miley Cyrus is just 16 years old? She actually looks much older. Maybe early twenties? She looks good though, haha... John Travolta is 54 years old. Christmas is round the corner! I am excited as the season of Advent leads to the climax of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus! Hope you are just as excited as me. =) Have a nice weekend and let’s await the commemoration day of the miraculous birth of our Lord and Saviour! Glory to the new-born King!

God Bless,

Andrew
