Stepping into the New Year
Dear Diary,
Just came back from a massive gathering among the colleagues. Think it is the first time we ever came out as a bunch of colleagues to have fun, to sing karaoke, to play pool, to drink alcohol and to have dinner together! =) I left work at 6pm and took a long bus ride. I arrived at Keppel Club by 7.20pm. It was a great place to “chill out” indeed! I really enjoyed interacting with my colleagues and some of the invited locums who came. Was one of the four who did not take any medical leave for the whole of last year, so got that $10 voucher… haha… pretty peanuts though, keke… Then my boss announced that a colleague would be promoted to Assistant Pharmacy Manager by end of March. Congrats to her on that promotion! =) She is a capable choice. As the evening passed till almost midnight, a locum gave me a lift home in his BMW 3-series. Yay! Save the cab fare, haha...
On Wednesday, I stepped into my pharmacy after 10 days of absence. It was a rather busy day because I had about more-than-100 emails to clear, the orderings to do, the checking of records etc… Was quite surprised when a friend dropped by and joined me for dinner. I bought her a meal at MOS Burger and after dinner, she continued with some of her own work at my pharmacy… sitting at the corner of my dispensary counter. Haha… She sat there for almost 2 hours waiting for me to end work before we went to the Istana Park for a long chat over some drinks. I don’t know… but it felt great to be able to just have a friend around after work to talk just about anything under the moonlight, haha… I guessed we did not stay longer because the sky threatened with the drizzle.
You know something… it is just 3 days into the year 2008 and I can already feel that this is going to be a year unlike any others. Getting upbeat about it and hopefully I persevere with my intention for change. ;-) Leave you with the lyrics of one of my all-time favourites (yup, you are right, it is the background music)…
Flora’s Secret
Lovers in the long grass
Look above them
Only they can see
Where the clouds are going
Only to discover
Dust and sunlight
Ever make the sky so blue
Afternoon is hazy
River flowing
All around the sounds
Moving closer to them
Telling them the story
Told by Flora
Dreams they never knew
Silver willows
Tears from Persia
Those who come
From a far-off island
Winter Chanterelle lies
under cover
Glory-of-the-sun in blue
Some they know as passion
Some as freedom
Some they know as love
And the way it leaves them
Summer snowflake
For a season
When the sky above is blue
When the sky above is blue
Lying in the long grass
Close beside her
Giving her the name
Of the one the moon loves
This will be the day she
Will remember
When she knew his heart
Was
Loving in the long grass
Close beside her
Whispering of love
And the way it leaves them
Lying in the long grass
In the sunlight
They believe it's true love
And from all around them
Flora's secret
Telling them of love
And the way it breathes
And
Looking up from eyes of
Amarantine
They can see the sky
Is blue
Knowing that their love
Is true
dreams they never knew
And the sky above is blue
God Bless,
Andrew
