Yet another end of a chapter in my life

Dear Diary,

After all the busyness, I am beginning to find time to relax a little. I just did my individual physical proficiency test (IPPT) which basically is a military fitness test and did well in it. Showed dramatic improvement. Apparently, the month-long training (twice a week) did me some good, haha…. When I reached the test centre early evening, the soles of my shoes came off! Strangely (I was puzzled by my own reaction also) …. I did not even panic. Instead, I calmly took off my own shoes and borrowed a pair of shoes. Wasn’t too fitting but once I started the test, there was no looking back as I registered some really good scores! Yeah! ;-) It also marked a beginning where I can have my evenings free to go out and meet friends, haha… rather than spending time in military camp. Looking forward to my new-found freedom!

As the week draws to a close, I will also be bidding farewell to my students. It has been a joy teaching them. Still remember how I struggled each evening to make notes for them. Now, I await the notes they will make for me this coming Saturday, haha… Let’s see how they “teach” me on diabetes mellitus and thyroid disorders. =) The guy’s medical certificates for two days’ absence were flatly rejected by the university’s pharmacy department because it was from Malaysian doctors. I typed an email on his behalf to ask that this incident be made an exception and presto… it worked like magic. The lecturer acceded to my request. The male student was thanking me profusely, haha… I guess it feels different now that I am some people’s preceptor! Hee…

Anyway, it was encouraging that my students asked if I would bring them to visit any church before we proceed for the final presentation at the Singapore Management University (SMU) this coming Friday. I told them that I would not be bringing them anywhere. However, I added that they could either go to directly to SMU at the appointed time, meet me 15 minutes before to go together or find me half an hour earlier in St Andrew’s Cathedral as I would be praying there. It was nice that they chose the last option. =) Hope I kinda make an impact in their lives… maybe the guy who is a non-believer will think about what Christianity is all about.

A new student will come in next Monday. I hope I can continue to be an inspiring preceptor although admittedly it will be repeating everything again… which may be boring, haha… I don’t know…. I will try my best though! ;-) But somehow, in recent times… can’t help feeling that the outgoing female student is a great lady. Hmmm… it’s a long time since I felt like that. Sigh… it is always hard to understand one’s feelings, isn't it? One step at a time, we will see.

That’s all for now.

God Bless,

Andrew
