Pleasant Visitations
Dear Diary,
Just came back from a sumptuous dinner at Swensens restaurant with a former pharmacy classmate… Managed to spend the $40 out of the $50 gift voucher which I got from the company’s dinner & dance (D&D) lucky draw two days ago. It was nice meeting up with him because I have not talked to him much these days. He was probably the male classmate I talked to most in class when I was a university student. =) The remaining $10 of the voucher, I am giving it to the 21-year-old promoter in my store after she helps me to retrieve more information from the rival company. Can’t wait for all the rivalry to end…. The competition and spying that results is burning a hole in my pocket. Then again… maybe I am an earning adult… I actually don’t feel the pinch when giving people treats these days. In fact, I kinda like the look of joy in the faces of those whom I give things or treats. Well… anyway, the dinner was good reward for me after a hectic day of roster coordinating. A pharmacist was taken ill and getting a replacement was just so tedious! Then again, there are always nice moments in the day that keep me going. A sales rep got me some Sterimar to try… just in time for my congested nostrils, haha… I always feel really happy to see my regular locum pharmacist. She brought me some Pfizer gifts and we had a pretty nice chat. She even stood beside me and “measured” herself with my height… and said her height isn’t that bad. I asked her, “What’s your height?”
“1.55m, “ she replied. Immediately, it kinda reminded me of the times when another friend used to like measuring her height with mine.
Two days ago on Tuesday, I was busy coping with my new portfolio of roster coordinating for all the pharmacists in my company. In fact, I am still very busy with it! Kinda a little phobic over emails, SMS and phone-calls… because so many of them all those “troublesome” ones which need me to coordinate and plan. Anyway, I was very pleasantly surprised when my favourite TTSH satellite pharmacist came to my pharmacy! =) She asked me if I still read the British National Formulary (BNF)… sorry… nope, haha… Gave her 10% discount for the Mucosolvan syrup she bought. Another former TTSH pre-registration colleague came to visit me and it was so coincidental that all three of us met in my pharmacy! ;-) Hee… Had lunch with him later on. That evening, I wore a coat and drove to Orchard Hotel. It was my company’s dinner & dance (D&D) and I had loads of fun because the event was very well-organised! The retro (1970’s) theme was so crazy… there were so many people who came in costumes and hairdos that made them look like Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe. Haha… After all the dinner, I even went to the dance floor to dance with the multitudes. By the time it ended, it was 1.30am. I was initially a little worried that there might be some police around as I had drunk a huge glass of beer. Anyway, hopped into my car and drove home comfortably in 20 minutes! =)
Yesterday on Wednesday, the cute Wyeth sales representative came to my shop to answer the question I posted to them. Is there any clinical evidence and pharmacological proof that a mixture of Guaifenesin and Dextromethorphan works? She gave me some clinical papers which I did not really think that they were sufficient to answer my doubts. Nonetheless, she just seemed a little helpless because Robitussin DM really isn’t that great in terms of price and efficacy compared to its rivals. On account of her sample of a Robitussin DM, her non-pharmacology background (she studied real estate in NUS), her willingness to learn, her humility, her whining, her young look (she is actually older than she looks) … I will see if I can start selling a little of Robitussin DM, hahaha… =P
Ok, it is pretty late now… end of story telling. Can anyone of you Christians out there… please pray for me that I find time to do some studying (I have no time!!!) and that I will do well in a particularly crucial exam coming up (the exams cost me a bomb also). Thanks! ;-) Goodnight!
God Bless,
Andrew
