Embarrassment, Astonishment and Reminiscence

Dear Diary,

It must be a day of roller-coaster feeling. First, I felt so dumb to be asking my boss why she left the Christian faith when she was never a Christian in her life! Felt like strangling the guy who gave me the wrong information, hahahaha… Wondered if my boss was even offended by me. Well, it is worth a try for the God’s kingdom, isn’t it? =) Apparently, my information and intelligence-gathering resources these days are no longer as unreliable as before. I am winding down my intelligence services, keke…

Then in the evening today, a Buddhist nun praised me for speaking mandarin and said she will buy from my pharmacy from today onwards because the pharmacist in the nearby rival pharmacy can barely speak mandarin! Goodness, I don’t even remember myself coming out tops when compared to another person based on the command of mandarin. Have I changed and not know about it? I sold her the Hirudoid cream, hahaha… Got a couple of praises today from customers, and last month’s sales of prescription and pharmacy medicines jumped by $2K! An achievement I relish, hee… That’s life in retail, not much better than life in sales. We just see figures, haha…

Back home, I got a wedding invitation yet again. That is like the 5th invitation since Jillynn’s wedding. Hmmm… it is from a former church friend. She was in the same Anglican church as me when we were in secondary school but she left for a more charismatic church when she was in college. As for me, I left for another Anglican church in the later years of university life. Still remember those days when she would come up to me after church service to ask how I was coping (and I appreciated that because I did not have much self-esteem, not exactly handsome then… and maybe now also, hahaha)… yeah, our parents loved to compare our grades… from O-levels to A-levels… although I always triumphed, haha… She was such a nice, pretty, friendly girl and would call me up to talk on the phone occasionally during those secondary and college days. I used to love watching her prance the stage for some church dance performance at Century Square. Now it felt like eternity ago though. Haha…

The last time I contacted her was asking for some textbooks for my business modules in university, haha… Time really flies. Now… the wedding invitation… should I take the trouble to take leave to attend that wedding which is on a Saturday? Hmmm… I think I will… and maybe just meet up with some old former church members. It has been years since I saw most of them. Now… tomorrow, I have to ask my boss to grant me that Saturday off… hope she forgets the outrageous question I asked her… really, I was not intending to “convert” her, hahaha… Okay, that’s all for now… going to sleep soon and catch the World Cup semi-finals between Germany and Italy. Germany should win the match. I predict the Finals will be France versus Germany. =) My predictions had been so accurate that I actually predicted correctly that France would beat Brazil, Portugal would beat England, Germany would beat Argentina, and Italy would beat Ukraine!

Okay, really must go now… Good night!

God Bless,

Andrew
