Prepare for Change!

Dear Diary,

Just completed watching the movie “Around the World in 80 days” on television. Kinda enjoyed it a lot. Always hope that in some time of my life, I can just explore the world and immerse in the rich cultures around! =) Anyway, it is quite incredible how suddenly I am going to meet up with two pharmacy classmates next week for dinner at possibly Meniotti after about 6.5 years! Yeah… in semester one of my pharmacy year 1, I was quite close to two female classmates because we took the same cross-faculty module “Great Ideas in Contemporary Physics”. We used to eat lunches together. It was great friendship bonding because we hardly knew many people anyway since we were freshmen then. Of course, as the semesters went by, we had our own cliques. You will be amazed how we suddenly wanted to meet up. First, a locum pharmacist friend messaged me to ask if I could help recommend a gynaecologist / obstetrician for her friend who will be giving birth. I decided to contact a classmate since I thought she has some contacts. She ended up asking her friend (who happens to be my ex- university classmate also) who told her and she told me and I told my locum friend and she told her own friend…. Well, pretty complicated stuff but happened within just a couple of hours. We got the recommendation across. Then she suggested that we could meet up for dinner and I volunteered to arrange everything and presto! Three of us will meet up after such a long hiatus! ;-) Looking forward to it! There will also be 2 wedding dinners to attend within a period of a week from today. Lots of reunions next week I guess.

This afternoon, I also managed to chat with my youngest sister’s new boyfriend over lunch for more than an hour. And I did what I haven’t done for ages (Sorry God, should have done more of such), I explained to him about Christ, His redemptive work and the Christian faith. I hoped I managed to give him a good overview so that he can be more convicted as he goes through the Baptism course to know more about the Christian faith. My other sister also looks set to officially get a boyfriend soon and for the first time, I am feeling the pressure! It is strange that I don’t really know that I am stressed up until I chatted with my boss recently. She has this “disarming” ability and now I know that I have everything penned up in me. Sigh… A university has called me yesterday that it will be resubmitting my credentials for further study… I was like… ahhhh… not even sure if I should embark on one that soon. Then, I have also scheduled a trip down to NUS next week to gain some inspiration and try to find my “destiny”, haha… Okay…. Enough of all the vacillations in my mind. =)

Anyway, yesterday… my former pharmacy assistant came down to visit me at my outlet. I bought him lunch at Mos Burger restaurant. Apparently, he has not settled down well in his new outlet. Lots of complaints and such… I guess I am much fortunate to have nice colleagues at my new outlet and I am enjoying it very much! He told me that a locum pharmacist commented how “lucky” Andrew is, to have the cabinets revamped when I arrive at my new outlet. He told the locum that it is a blessing from God. I am ashamed that I never actually thought that way… that all the small “coincidences” that peppered along my life are God’s precious little blessings for me! It need not always be a huge miracle! Haha! My outlet’s store manager asked me if I am a Christian. I asked her why she guessed that way and she said she could just feel it! Yay! It is a compliment especially since she is a free-thinker and she doesn’t even know my background well! I hope I am still shining for Jesus!

Of course, to round it all up… how can we forget Valentine’s Day 3 days ago? ;-) I was dateless… sobs… two nice female friends wanted to give me a surprise but they reached my outlet late and I kinda gave them a “surprise” when they could not surprise me with a meet-up. 27 years of Valentine Days without anyone to call my own… I hope 2009 will be the breakthrough year! Haha… ok, maybe we should not say 27 years. Have to start at least after puberty. ;-) Anyway, have a great week ahead!

God Bless,

Andrew
